Question about the clarity of the ingredients list

In the ingredients section of the recipe are listed two different amounts for butter. The first amount is 4 tablespoons and the other amount is half a cup. I'm assuming the four tablespoons of butter go into the custard and the half cup of butter is used for the crust. I could see an inexperienced Baker (me) mistakenly adding the wrong amount of butter when preparing the crust and the filling. But then again I'm not great at reading recipes to begin with.
