What kind of pan do you make the cake in?

I didn't see the kind of pan that should be used in the directions. Do you use a springform pan?

Yes in the original - free form on what looks like a dinner plate.
If you want to make it in a container, approximately use a 9" baking pan (squared brownie pan, holds about 8c; or a round layer cake pan, holds about 6c).
