In the wild rice sweet potato salad, can you make the rice & potatoes the day before. The recipe says to toss each in the vinaigrette right away.

I’m not sure what the recipe is, but the reason you want to toss them in the vinaigrette right away is that they will absorb more of it when warm. But you can make both components ahead. Just bring them to room temperature and warm them gently (microwave? Low oven? Steam with a little liquid? All will work.) before tossing them with vinaigrette.
