Good question and the answer is yes! Room temperature eggs and dairy will help the batter to blend more evenly whereas cold eggs cold re-harden your fats (butter). They also whip up higher and make for a lighter batter and cake. If you’ve forgotten to take your eggs out in time, simply submerge them in a bowl of warm (NOT HOT!) water for ~10 minutes.
