You’d do better with a gluten free flour blend like Cup4Cup. You need to mimic the effects of gluten to get proper rise and texture. Fortunately, food scientists have worked that out so you don’t have to experiment.

If you need or want to use almond flour, go ahead.
But the nut flour doesn’t act like wheat flour, and results will more of a pudding than a cake.
