How much gravy does this make?

Did I miss how much gravy this makes?  I’ve got 16 at table this year. I’m guessing I’ll need to make a double recipe. I’d like to have at least 2 quarts. With gravy, more is always better

Hi, Cheryl. It makes about a quart. The rules of thumb I've read from reliable sources say to plan for 1/3 - 1/2 cup per person. (I have a hard time imagining using even 1/3 cup, but I suppose big eaters going back for seconds could.). There was another Hotline question on how much is the right amount, and several people said 1 (!) cup per person; most others responded 1/3 - 1/2. You didn't say how many of those 16 are younger kids, how many are teenagers, how many are big-eating adults, etc.  If you want to be absolutely sure, and would not mind having a bit of gravy left over - seriously, not a bad problem to have -- make 2.5 times the recipe.  ;o)
