Can this be made dairy free? Would love to make this for a family member but they don't drink dairy. Could I use coconut cream?

I'd say absolutely! Coconut cream may have a thicker consistency even when heated up, so a full fat canned coconut milk may prove more compatible texture-wise. But I suspect that either would yield tasty results. Give it a try.
