Would this recipe fit in a 13" x 4" tart pan? I thought it would nice to be able to serve it in slices.

My error! The tart pan is a rectangle 13 x 4 x 1, not a round shape. I also found a formula to determine capacity: divide volume by 16. So, based on that the 13 x 4 x1 is too small to use for that recipe.

Cool.

The recipe itself calls for a standard French tart pan. You need to get some. All serious cooks/bakers have 9x1 tinned French tart pans. Google "Gobel tinned tart pan" on Amazon and buy the real thing, from France. Get several.

13x4 is huge, almost ridiculously so.

Standard tinned French tart pans are 9x1, some might argue 8x1. I worked with some in France that supposed had been in use since the late 1800s -- tin almost completely gone and down to the black steel.

You really ought to try to buy at least one in the standard size. There are so many recipes that call for them and you won't have to give the whole issue a moment's thought.

There's nothing about using a 9x1 that would prevent you from serving the tart in slices.
