Almond flour substitute instead of meal?

I'm having trouble finding almond meal that is less thn $15/lb. Can I sub almond flour and what if any other changes need to be made in order to accomodate?

You can sub it, but the texture won't be the same and the overall bake will be different. You can make almond meal yourself if you have a food processor. Almond meal is made with the skins on, almond flour is made with blanched almonds with the skins removed. If you make it yourself, grind the almonds until the the grains are about the size of a grain of couscous or a little smaller.
