Ingredient amounts for the Qatari Bazaar mix

The amounts in the Qatari Bazaar mix is in cups but for 2 cups rice this would be too much!
Could it be that this should be 'teaspoon' and not a 'cup'?

The spice mixture is meant to produce enough for making the recipe with leftover spice mixture to use another day. The recipe calls for you to use only 4 tablespoons of the spice mix- not all of it. This is plenty for seasoning the rice and chicken. I'm not sure why the recipe says it is for only 2 servings, because I have eaten and made this dish before and those amounts would be more for 4-6 servings. Maybe they are extra hungry folks, or planned on leftovers for the next day? But my time in the Middle East also taught me that they eat a lot more rice than most Americans, and it often is eaten in larger amounts as well. They tend not to eat as much meat per serving either. I might cut back a little on the spice, perhaps using 3 tablespoons rather than the 4 it calls for- because some of those spices can take over things after a long simmer. But otherwise, I don't find anything in the recipe to be alarmed with.

Jamila -

Reactions from someone whose made similar but not exactly the same recipe.

Yes, your instinct on rice quantity is right. Rice amounts per person in other recipes online that have satisfied cooks use about 1/3 to 1/2 cup dried rice per person. (I don't know what the 2 cups in this recipe was supposed to be. Or maybe they made leftovers.)

Also, many home cooks have tried and dozens have liked them. Maybe worth looking at and comparing to this Qatar version at food52, which encountered some problems of taste and texture.

Got it - the OP was asking about the MIX for the rice, not the RICE.
