Hi Diane! I'm assuming you mean "Can you make a Southern cornbread dressing ahead of time?", given we're days from Thanksgiving, but let us know! I personally think it would be best to wait to mix in the eggs + stock the day of, but you could certainly sauté the onions and celery ahead of time + have everything ready to go. That's my two cents, although many recipes say it's fine to pre-assemble everything, then bring to room temp the day of to bake it. Curious if anyone has other thoughts.

thank you! My mom passed away and I found her dressing recipe and want to follow it. I'm going to follow her recipe on Wednesday and add the egg and broth before baking on Thursday as you recommended. Thank you again and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
