Garlic cloves whole or minced?

Shouldn't the cloves be chopped or minced? Or are they added whole? Smashed?

Video shows chopped/minced garlic at the 1:30 point. It's very quick but clearly he isn't adding whole garlic cloves.

Given that you're adding the garlic to the panko as an initial step, I would definitely mince the garlic before adding. I was a bit surprised to see that the raw garlic goes in the topping. Me? I'd mince the garlic and add it to the bacon while it's cooking, to make sure the garlic is thoroughly cooked. You'd end up with garlicky bacon fat, but that sounds like a good thing.

If you try the recipe, please let us know how it turns out. It looks like a keeper!!
