Can you clarify the ingredients which appear to be misspelled or mis-worded?

There are some really odd phrases in this recipe that need clarification: what are 2 "pieces" of onion anf garlic? 2 onions? 2 cloves? Is "tahin" a misspelling of the Mexican tajin spice or of tahini?

Yes, I think the most reasonable interpretation is 2 onions and 2 cloves of garlic. Given that "tahini" is in the title, "tahin" is most likely tahini.
