2nd yr asparagus still too thin & tall

Question

I have 2nd yr asparagus it's still really thin &amp;amp; gotten very tall can I go ahead &amp;amp; cut them down or is it too early any help so they'll be beatable size next yr?

I would cut them down because you want the energy to stay in the roots. Then cover with a good, rich compost. I would not fertilize until late summer/fall but consult a gardening website for more information. Gardeners tend to be generous with their experience and knowledge!
