Why do people rate a recipe BEFORE actually making it?

All Food52 recipes are great ideas, but why not actually MAKE the recipe BEFORE rating/reviewing it.

For the same reason they rate a recipe that includes phrases like: 'I left this out & added such & such and decreased whatever.' Essentially making something completely. different from the recipe. (*SO annoying Imo.)
