I don't have a food processor, but I can purchase small crumb Oreo cookies in a 1 lb bag. How much of the bag should I use for this recipe?

Hi [email protected]!

I have a couple thoughts about this question. Firstly, you could definitely make this recipe without a food processor. I would crush the cookies with my hands or add the cookies to a bag and crush with a rolling pin or heavy skillet.

The reason I would maybe recommend using whole, crushed cookies over store-bought crumbs is because the packaged crumbs won't include the filling of the cookies, just the chocolate outer layers. You may find that without the added cream, the finished recipe may not work exactly the same and lack a bit of moisture or creaminess.

The difference could be negligible but I thought it would be worth pointing out!

To actually answer your question, 11 crushed Oreos will yield about a cup of crumbs so for 18 in this recipe I'd use 1 2/3 cup of the crumbs.

Hope this helps!

WHERE are you getting Oreo crumbs??! They have been discontinued and are not available ANYWHERE ... Not even on Amazon.

I just ordered from Amazon, supposed to arrive on Monday. If it arrives, I will check the expiration date (lol). If there is a problem, I will let you know!

Good to know.
What is the name of your product? Nabisco isn't making OREO crumbs (without the white stuff/centers) anymore.
