fair fresh turkey question- will it keep 3-4 days in the fridge, with a dry brine on day 2 or 3?

Greetings and salutations, I purchased a fresh turkey from the local farmer and she wants us to pick up on Monday. I am planning to do a dry brine, but my question is, can it keep in the fridge? I assume the salt in the brine will help, but I would love to hear others' experiences. Thank you!

Hi Vannes_Et_Sa_Femme!

This is an interesting question! I am genuinely so jealous of your fresh, farm turkey! Raw and unbrined a turkey will only really last about 48 hours. A dry brine does give you an extra day but, truly just one. Any longer you can risk spoilage or the turkey getting overly salted.

Hope this helps!

* Sorry this should read "farm fresh" not "fair". Merci.
