dessicated = dried. you will want the unsweetened dried/flaked coconut.
I normally use the fresh frozen shredded coconut for Sundals, but in keeping with the instructions in the recipe, you're probably better off getting the dried variety. Dessicated coconut should be available in Indian grocery stores.
