can you freeze roasted beets?

I just pulled a bag of whole roasted beets from my freezer to make Jamie Oliver's genius recipe (no, I didn't smoke them) and they were delicious. It was the first time I had tried freezing cooked beets and I really did not notice much difference.

I have frozen them. When they defrost they aren't exactly the same, and they tend to be a little watery and have a bit less flavor.
