I have that same Salter Aquatronic electric scale that La domestique linked and I adore it. Seriously, it changed my kitchen life. You can even measure liquids on it!

I've used the Salter Electronic scale for years and it serves me well for all my baking/cooking needs. http://www.amazon.com/Salter...

I am with AJ and healthier kitchen - OXO all the way. It has a pull-out component if you are measuring large something.

I'll second the OXO. relatively inexpensive, and easy enough to use even for me!

I love the Escali scales. They're little, accurate, and easy to alternate between grams and ounces.

I really like my OXO. It's slim so I can slide it into a cubby in one of my upper cabinets, to get it off the counter, yet because it's lightweight, I can easily just grab it when I need it. I use it all the time. Often I wonder how I ever cooked without a scale. The OXO is reasonable, too, and has all the functionality I need. ;o)

I have this one and absolutely love it! The tare function is super helpful, it has a number of different units you can measure in and it's really sensitive and accurate. Beyond that, storage is a dream since it's so slim and small, but it's still big enough to put large bowls full of ingredients on.
