What is the difference between polenta corn meal & regular corn meal? Will it make or break a cornbread?

In reference to the cornbread recipe suggestion for "Monday" thanksgiving prep

Polenta is a very coarse grind. Your cornbread will be very "rustic" if not outwardly crunchy. Polenta needs more liquid and time to cook through.

To my knowledge, regular cornmeal is ground finer than polenta corn meal. Not sure how the polenta corn meal would fare in a cornbread, but I could imagine it may be a bit too grainy!
