Stovetop standby.
There’s a reason Le Creuset’s Dutch oven has graced kitchens all over the globe—lots of reasons, actually. It does everything you want your cast-iron pieces to do and then some: heats evenly, retains that heat for longer, and even locks in moisture thanks to the tight-fitting lid. Did we mention it’s lighter in weight than any other cast-iron pot its size? That too. The enameled finish inside and out eliminates the need for seasoning and cleans up easy when it’s done cooking up a storm. It’s durable, too, since it’s stain and chip resistant and happily takes your metal utensils. Let it handle your soups, stew, braises, breads, and oh-so much more. It won’t be leaving the stove anytime soon.
You can plan on using this hotshot with any stovetop, including induction, and ovens up to 500°F. The 4.5-quart capacity makes 3 to 4 servings of beef stew, jambalaya, herby rice...whatever you’re cooking up.

- Materials:
Enameled cast iron, stainless steel knob.
- Care:
Wash your enameled cast-iron cookware in hot, soapy water before its first use. For cleanup, hand washing is recommended. Avoid metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners—a soft sponge and a good soak are your best friends here. Always let your pan cool for a few minutes before washing.
Nylon, silicone, or wooden utensils are best for your pan. You can use metal utensils, but they may damage the enamel coating if they repeatedly scrape or knock against the coating. Do not use an electric mixer inside the pan, and do not cut food inside the pan with a knife (this can damage the enamel as well).
