Just as you always have a bottle of wine on hand for unexpected company or one of those days, and you keep cookie dough in the freezer in case of emergency, you should always -- always! -- have a sharp triangle of Parmesan in your cheese drawer.

Because Parmesan will make any savory dish better, more deeply flavored, more likely to inspire all those semi-inappropriate noises you make when you eat something really, really good. All hail Parmesan, king of the foods!
