From Where We Stand: Our Weekend in Photos

March  8, 2016

A glimpse into the Food52 team's lives: Here's how the world looks from where we cat-sit, plant-shop, and learn to surf (!!).

This is the Saugerties Lighthouse. There are rooms (2) to rent, picnic tables (3) to eat on, and views (so many), no matter how cold the weather. —Kenzi

Sunday breakfast made better with Piglet contender Hot Bread Kitchen's kale, cheddar, and onion stuffed m'smen, broiled till crispy (full disclosure: I didn't bake this, but bought it from them at the farmers market). —Kristen

Had one of these at Death & Co. Then had a wonderful dinner at Porsena, but was so enthralled I forgot to take any photos of it :-). —Clint

I had a nice, long walk home on Friday night under a really cool, lava-lamp sky. Perfect way to kick off the weekend. —Zoe

One more for the list of Places I Did Not Want To Leave

Spent the weekend in a cabin outside of Woodstock, New York, which featured a wholly haphazard floorplan, lofted bedrooms, and 3 different treatments to the wood walls: an ashy stain, raw knotty pine, and whitewashing. Lots going on, but it all worked. —Amanda S.

I spent this weekend living like a teenager again, and traveled to see one of my favorite bands two nights in a row with my best friend. Photo credits go to her. —Rebecca

Living out plantasies at @saipua. (Seriously, go: plant sale through tomorrow at 166 Dwight.)

My plantasies came true this weekend at Saipua's plant sale in Red Hook. This beautiful being was not for sale, but we did score a monumentally potted rubber plant and another tiny thing whose nickname is "copper spoons." —Sam

I had the wildest dumplings from White Bear in Flushing. Don't walk, run there. And don't forget to add red chili oil on top. —Kate

I know the Saugerties Light house and it is indeed a special place. There are but 2 ways to get there-------1/2 mile hike from the parking lot when the tide is low or by boat.
