There are some cakes that seem appropriate to "hunker down" with. These involve chocolate, and you want to eat them in the light of the moon whilst hunched over a worn wooden table, one paw arm drawing the plate close to you. Like you're a werewolf.

But with the spring come cakes that you're glad to eat in the daytime. You're feeling more generous, less ravenous—you'll cut them into dainty pieces and share them with your friends. You'll add strawberries, rhubarb, herbs, too.
