13 Scones to Take You from Breakfast to Dinner

January 11, 2018

"For some reason, when I pick up a new baking book, more than cookies, more than cake, more than brownies...scones always call my name first."

That's from Baking Club member (and professional baker) Timmy Gibbons. He attributes their appeal to both their simplicity, versatility, and the fact that one can eat a scone at almost any meal. His fellow Club members clearly agree—all this month, our Baking Club is focused on Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel’s Bouchon Bakery, and scones have taken over (not that we're complaining).

The scones shown above all come from Bouchon Bakery, and the Cinnamon Honey Scones, in particular, are proving to be a Club favorite. Multiple members are calling them the best scones they've ever had, and with descriptions like "to die for," "run, don't walk, to make these," and "the most tender, delicious, melt in your mouth scones." We'd recommend picking up a copy (and joining us in the Club once you do).

We wouldn't want you to miss out on stellar scones just because you haven't picked up a copy of the book yet though, so here are 13 recipes for standout scones, both sweet and savory.
