And while you have more than a week to prepare heartfelt notes and small treats, you’ll likely encounter red, pink, and white-packaged temptations everywhere you turn. And that’s great! We’re all for daily dessert—but to balance the sweets, you might want to pack lunches with some extra vegetables.

This week, lean on hearty winter vegetables, like brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, or cabbage. Blend leeks and potatoes into creamy soup, mix pan-roasted brussels sprouts into salads of grains or greens, or stuff marinated kale between thick slices of bread.
