I, too don't think it is a sandwhich. Like Joey Chestnuts, a nine-time champion of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, in 2017, tweeted that hot dogs are not sandwiches. “It's #NationalHotDogDay and as President, I want it to be known that the Hot Dog stands free and independent from the tyranny of the sandwich,"

A HOT DOG IS LEGGALY A SANDIWTCH The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) describes a sandwich as “a meat or poultry filling between two slices of bread, a bun, or a biscuit.” By that definition, sure, a hot dog is a sandwich https://www.google.com/search?q=is+a+hot+dog+leggaly+a+sandiwtch&rlz=1C1GCEU_enUS935US935&oq=is+a+&aqs=chrome.1.69i59l3j35i39j69i57j69i60l3.4432j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&safe=active&surl=1

I just want to know what so wrong with it being classified as a sandwich? It is, it’s own sub genre of sandwich. Within the umbrella genre of sandwiches you might say. Like, grilled cheeses, simple turkey or ham in white, hoagies, subs are all sandwiches. A hotdog is a sandwich, but a sandwich is not a hotdog. I see like, a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.
