You can’t look away from TikTok for even one minute without a new recipe, cleaning hack, or travel tip going absolutely viral. This morning, the new hot thing is this trending sun omelette recipe, which uses sliced tomatoes as a mold for scrambled eggs, cheese, and herbs. The recipe has collectively gained more than 20 million views after being recreated and shared on the app by TikTok users arry3453, cocinandoenparati, and abbily985.
How to Make Sun Omelette
Wake up on the right side of the bed with this viral trend. Here’s how to make TikTok’s sun omelettes: thinly slice a tomato into approximately ¼-inch rings. Lay the slices cut side down on a cutting board and press a wine glass into the center of the tomato to remove the flesh and seeds. Separate the tomato “rings” from the pulp. Chop the pulp and seeds and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Add two eggs, chopped chives, salt, pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese and whisk vigorously until combined.
Meanwhile, heat a large nonstick skillet and add a tablespoon or two of olive oil. Carefully place the tomato rings (you should have about half a dozen) in the skillet and spoon the egg mixture into the center of each ring. Some TikTok users have covered the pan with a lid to fully cook the egg mixture, whereas other users didn’t add a lid at all.
Serve them as is, or garnish with microgreens, as Tiktok user hirokopan did.

This brilliant creation from Ali Slagle is In between a pizza and tomato-egg bake. This paired-down method is inspired by a similar dish at Breads Bakery; eggs are nestled in focaccia along with a tomato-pepper mix for a meal worthy of breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner.
Any sautéed veggies will work in this egg scramble, but here onions, garlic, bell peppers, and chopped tomatoes work beautifully. Serve with simit, a traditional Turkish sesame bread, or any other type of bread of your choosing for a speedy breakfast.
