sole almadine ( loved that despite disliking fish generally) Eggs Benedict & a breakfast cocktail with club soda, OJ & amaretto...DELICIOUS! I was googling that TWA Oriental FC salad - took me here- no luck tho!. - recall it was tangy, crisp w noodles. Then-lemon scented hot towels after FC meals. SO CLASSY! just taking my taste buds down memory lane. TWA FA: 72-86! Apologies for any typo-s- no spell check!

I knew that chateaubriand the moment I saw the photo. My mom’s base was JFK. She was called a REMO, returning mother. She was let go because she was pregnant with me. My mom joined a lawsuit and eventually she was able to choose to get her job back. She loved being a flight attendant. Your description of the Ralph Lauren uniforms! Spot on. I especially loved how my Mom tried new ways to create a different tie. I was the fortunate teenager who flew to London for the weekend and sat in first class. There will never be anything like that experience. She loved that job.

Yes! My dad worked for TWA. We flew first class every time we traveled. Loved it!

I was a Customer Service Agent in late 70s 80s. My first international flight was to LHR on an L1011. We flew 1st class of course - the flight attendant took my friend and I on a tour upstairs and down and gave us the 1st class kit and the socks and a mimosa to start and yes that was my 1st Chateaubriand of many. As we walked off the plane the flight attendant gave us a bottle of champagne! Those were the days - we thought they'd never end!

I was lucky enough growing up to fly on TWA in First Class quite a few times to California and Europe. The Royal Ambassador service was incredibly classy. I'm proud to say that I learned "silver service" from the flight attendants on board. From the Grissini breadsticks to the caviar and chateaubriand carved seatside, I was spoiled forever. None of the US air carriers can touch what TWA provided to first class passengers.
I still make Bocce Balls (mimosa w/ Amaretto) for brunch...

Oh, wow. This brought back memories.
When I was in kindergarten in the early 1980's, we moved to the UK. We flew back to the States every year for Christmas (usually via TWA).
We didn't fly First Class, but even the Coach meals were great. I remember eating Beef Stroganoff, and some kind of steak, among other things. I think I remember real silverware being used, too.
Thanks for the fun trip down memory lane!
