Put a Filter on It: So Long, Summer

September  6, 2013

It's no secret -- we love a good 'gram. Here, we'll be posting our favorite Instagram from the food world, on a different theme each week. This week, we're saying goodbye to summer -- but not for long.

Oh beloved summer, how we hate to see you go. How will we live without your deep purple eggplant, your plump kernels of golden corn, your ruby-red tomatoes? We can breathe a little easier with the knowledge that this isn't "Goodbye forever" -- it's only "So long for now." Come May, we'll see the green buds of your bounty peeking out of the soil once again.

Following the example of our friends at Lucky Peach and their Instagram tribute to summer, we want to send the season off with a bang. Readers, enjoy your last taste of summer and share the pictures with us. Come December, they'll remind us of what's to come.

We want your 'grams! Follow us, then Instagram your last summer hoorah with the hashtag #F52grams. We'll re-gram our favorites.

A (former) student of English, a lover of raisins, a user of comma splices. My spirit animal is an eggplant. I'm probably the person who picked all of the cookie dough out of the cookie dough ice cream. For that, I'm sorry.
