I find a tupperware container is best. They'll lose a little of their charm but will stay pretty fresh for a day.
You can also keep the tupperware in the fridge, but let the cupcakes come to room temperature before serving.
Put the sweets into Tupperware with a couple of slices of bread and store in the fridge. The bead will keep your treats moist.

Tupperware is great, if you can find a cupcake carrier it's a marvel. Mine seals tightly, I put in the fridge and bring to room temp before serving.
