You can try a combination that's something along the lines of these proportions:
2 teaspoons of Szechuan peppercorns, roasted & ground
8 star anise, ground
½ teaspoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground fennel seeds
What Kristen suggested is what I believe is correct. A little goes along way.
