I missed Jacques Pepin's birthday

Jack's birthday was on December 18th. This was supposed to be Jesus's birthday but Jack asked hey can't you just hold off for a week? I was lucky enough, and impoverished enough to eat good soup in his place on Fifth Avenue for a while in the seventies. I am still trying to chop garlic like this man. Any thoughts from the Food52ers?
