How to thicken heavy whipping cream

I'm heating whipping cream for a sauce with pasta. How can I thicken it up so not so runny

Will boiling it change the flavor of the cream? That was my concern.

Just do not burn it and it will not change the flavor

Boil cream until it is reduced to the consistency you want.
