Can anyone recommend any fantastic baklava recipes (particularly with pistachios)?
I've made this several times: http://food52.com/recipes... and it always disappears.
Layering the phyllo is not as complicated as I describe it to be... by saving phyllo scraps I make this in a large jelly roll pan and eke out 24 layers of phyllo from a one-pound package without a lot of waste.
Anna, It would be self-serving if I call it fantastic but my friends and family love my baklavas.
You can easily replace the almond meal with crushed raw pistachios or do two layers, one of each of almonds and pistachios for a more dramatic effect.
