What's a good recipe for black bean soup?

I've made this Chipotle Bean Soup with Bacon from SeriousEats a few times and really like it - it's quick and easy and has great flavor http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/12/chipotle-bean-soup-with-bacon.html?ref=search

I have not seen that version, but what an inspired addition.

After taking a look at that recipe, I realized I use the updated version of that same recipe all the time! It's in another Moosewood book, the "Daily Special," which was practically my first cookbook.

I think the only difference is that the "new" version uses a minced chipotle and a spoonful of the adobo sauce it's packed in.

Agree with nutcakes, Molly Katzen's Brazilian Black Bean Soup is delicious.
