Yum! As someone who grew up in the Canadian prairies, I love saskatoon berries. I like a simple compote with just sugar and a little bit of lemon. I just toss the berries with sugar and bring to a boil. Cook just until the berries begin to pop. Add lemon juice to taste. You can also try your favorite blueberry compote recipe, just switch to saskatoons.
