Sunday super. Favorites?

It's supposed to be cold and windy tomorrow. The kids will be with grandma all day. The house is clean. My husband has projects in the garage.
That means I have all day to cook.
Normally I think of recipes and push them aside because they have too many steps or take too long. Now I have the time and I can't think if anything.

Thanks everyone. I made the beef bourgignon. Bread. And tons of muffins and cookies for the holidays. I also canned some if my fall garden harvest and finished all the herbs by either making herbed salts, freezing in oil or drying. I'm ready for winter!

I like the ideas mentioned. You could make batches of holiday cookie dough for freezing and bake up a sheet or two now. Homemade pasta - ravioli or tortellini?

Both the above recipes sound great! Make them both and they'll keep for later in the week. Great comfort food all week long!

Also a great bolognese (which takes time and some effort but leaves time for reading the Sunday paper too). I made this last time and it was yummy -- http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/9735848/ns/today-food/t/meat-sauce-bolognese-sugo-alla-bolognese/

Happy Sunday!

That always happens to me! There's this doozy, Julia Child's boeuf bourguignon, which can take a while, plus heat up the house nicely (this is a page with broken up pdf of the recipe, but printable) http://cooking.knopfdoubleday.com/2009/07/13/julia-childs-boeuf-bourguignon-recipe/
