I have a question about the ingredient "½ teaspoon ground mace" on the recipe "Crispy Spice-Brined Pecans" from AntoniaJames. what is mace?

Mace is a spice. It is made from the outer layer of nutmeg. You can find ground mace in most grocery stores. I also suggest doing a Google image search since it is beautiful!
