Added too much sugar to my tomato sauce. I usually add just a touch but tonight my hand slipped. Any suggestions on how to rescue it?

I tip in some dry red wine. That should balance the flavors.

I'd also try too add more tomatoes and salt. If that doesn't do the trick, I'd go with the splash or two of red wine vinegar.

Add more tomatoes or try to dilute with other ingredients.
