MtMitchell, the Devils on Hatchback would be perfect for Iggy Pop. http://food52.com/recipes/3058-devils-on-hatchback
Vanina, oh dear--that's a bit more infamy than I'm willing to live up to. Try the devils on hatchback, use a sided baking dish.
Rihanna's Umbrella song could go perfectly with a cocktail (with tiki umbrella).
He's not on the list but maybe some kind of interesting or "not the norm" jalapeño poppers to evoke Iggy Pop? Again not on the music list but tuna poke for Phish?
I threw a Beatles themed birthday party for my husband a few years ago. The Hotline community really rose to the occasion for me. Here's their suggestions:

Cut some bread slices into the shape of a music note, toast, then put your favorite toppings on (like shrimp with mayo and dill, or a rillette, or devilled egg and ham pieces, or whatever your imagination dreams up).
Sleepy LaBeef meatballs?
Mothers of Invention Rutabagas?
Country Joe fishcakes?
Meat Loaf meat loaf?
Just don't make the food too heavy, lest your guests end up with Leadbelly
I would find it most successful to think in terms of layers. Like a tapas menu that you serve in a specific order. Like intro- verse- chorus- bridge ending? Think of a specific song and pair each dish with the movements of the song??
Tough one...(?)...
Maybe you could go with ethnic.Match traditional finger food to the music from this country or that area:caviar blinis from Russia and some cool underground russian rock band(or some balalaika song...),kibe for belly dance music, acarajé for samba or bossa nova from Brazil(acarajé is a fried scone made out of beans like a falafel, filled with dried shrimp and a cream of fish sauce, palm oil and blended boiled yuka, sounds harder than it is to make.I'm sure you can get a recipe on line...),oyster from Greece, and you can dance like "Zorba".Or you can go holidays:gingerbread and X-mas songs, candy corn and "I'll put a spell on you" for halloween,mini-burgers and martial bands for 4th of July...
I do! However some of them are difficult to pair(some of them obscure and difficult to know). Maybe you have some thought.
1. Feel so Close-Calvin Harris-its electronic music...big toughy but its a significant song
2.Ingrid Michaelson
3. Frank Sinatra
4. The Beatles
5. Presidents of the United States
6. Mutemath
7. Kanye West
It'd be interesting to do a food based off a mashup too(fusion song)
Honestly I'm just being open to any ideas :)
