Can I sub butter for oil in a yogurt/apple cake recipe?

I want to make an apple cake tomorrow. All the recipes that I've found call for oil. I want to use melted butter instead. Is there any reason not to?

In my experience when baking with butter (for cakes) it becomes a little airer and less moist, so depends on the texture you are looking for.
