Want to buy a slow cooker. Many reviews talk of the peeling off of non stick coatings or unreliable temperature control. Any recommendation

My recommendation for a slow cooker is go to a Thrift store and get one super cheep.

Both my slow cookers are have a ceramic, so I don't have a peeling problem. I would recommend getting a slow cooker with the ceramic pot. Second I would recommend something with a timer that shutoffs when you want it to. Can't heard of a slow cooker with a really good temperature control. But I figure that like an oven, slow cookers can vary and it's just a matter of getting to know how yours behaves. Both of mine, a 3qrt ($20) & a 6.5qrt ($40), are Rivals. The 6.5 qrt has the built in timer.
