mushrooms

I'm making the creamy mushroom soup recipe as we speak. It says cook mushrooms until the liquid is released and reabsorbed. Any idea how long this takes? I've been cooking them on low for quite some time and the liquid has been released but no reabsorption. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if it takes a long time?

Switch the heat to medium high/high and the liquid will reduce. Once that happens return to whatever cooking temp the recipe calls for
