Will a bag of coconut work instead of canned coconut

If I remember right, some years ago, we could buy tall, slim cans of coconut, but I think it was toasted coconut. I can't find it anymore, but you can toast your own for a recipe.

I believe canned coconut is a wet, sweetened shredded coconut and bagged is dry. You might need to add more liquid to the recipe to make up for the difference such as honey or sweetened condensed milk.

I want to make coconut balls, recipe calls for a can of coconut. .Can I use bag coconut instead? ????

What recipe are you making? If the recipe calls for canned coconut milk, I would not recommend substituting shredded coconut. The liquid will behave differently in the recipe than the desiccated coconut.
