I have a question about the recipe "Individual Chocolate Cakes with Dulce de Leche and Fleur de Sel" from David Lebovitz. Can the batter be made ahead of time?
Nancy is a trusted home cook.
I would say yes, if you refrigerate the batter. Then either let it come to room temp, or bake slightly longer than usual. However, a mixture with eggs for hours at room temp is bacteria heaven.
