I wonder, if you can really taste the small amounts of a spirit used for pie crust.
To be safe, however, you might want to consider matching its flavour to your pie: I immagine the juniper, rosemary and citrus notes in gin would go really well with a lemon merengue pie, dark rum would be great with apples, white rum for key lime or banana cream pie, bourbon for pumpkin or chocolate, and so on…

Yes, that sounds delicious! Now I really wish one actually could taste all of that—will certainly try it out in my next pie.

Vodka is usually not flavored, while gin does have ingredients, such as juniper, which have some flavor. I would think the more neutral vodka would be preferable.
