I'd recommend buying the largest turkey you can fit into your oven. That's what we do, and we're always happy with the results. :)

I fed 9 people with 2, 3lb. turkey breasts. This recipe is worth it and so much easier than a whole bird: http://food52.com/blog...

I deep-fried a 15lb turkey (golden perfection) for 10 people. Leftovers were perfect quantity.
