Does anyone have a solid recipe or technique for making decent vegan mayonnaise?

I don't recommend any recipe that uses pureed tofu. Here is a great one from Isa Chandra who is a great vegan chef. http://www.theppk.com/2013/07/homemade-grapeseed-mayonnaise/

Yeah--I've tried a couple that use tofu and have been pretty unhappy with the results. This one looks great, though!
